A video of a man being abducted by five individuals in broad daylight in Alor Setar, Kedah has gone viral on social media, leading to the arrest of four suspects connected to the incident
In the 42-second video, the group can be seen shoving a man into a white Perodua Viva.
Among the five individuals, one of them is a woman.
The victim is heard screaming throughout the video, and the person filming it is also heard shouting at them.
After the victim's father lodged a police report, the authorities arrested four individuals connected to the case
According to Harian Metro, the 27-year-old victim was abducted in front of a hotel in Shahab Perdana, Mergong on Monday, 24 April.
Kota Setar police chief ACP Ahmad Shukri Mat Akhir said three suspects were arrested at separate locations around Changlun, Jitra, and Alor Setar between 7pm and 9pm last night, 25 April, following the first arrest in the morning.
The suspects are aged between 39 and 43, and the female suspect tested positive for drugs.
"This makes the number of arrests in relation to the case so far to four people," said Ahmad Shukri.
They will be remanded until 1 May to assist in the investigation. The police are currently probing the motivation behind the abduction.
