"I always believe in following your passion, being prepared to work hard and make sacrifices, and above all, never letting anyone limit your dreams," she said.
She added that, as a little girl, she used to put on her mother's lip stick, wrap her shawl around her neck and strut on an imaginary catwalk, pretending to be a beauty queen.
"Dreams do come true!" she said.
The education consultant who hails from Ipoh, Perak also confessed that this is her first time participating in a beauty pageant
Despite her age, Sangeet said she has been more mentally and physically prepared to join a pageant, telling Asia Samachar that she describes herself as a fitness freak who loves travelling and crossfit.
"I feel fit compared [to] when I was a teenager, all thanks to the workouts that I started doing three years ago," she said.
The beauty queen added that her family has been very supportive of her participation in the pageant, which has led to her new role as an ambassador for tourism for the country.
Sangeet said she is looking forward to promoting ecotourism and advocating sustainability in the tourism industry in Malaysia.
