Anwar: Uni Students To Receive Subsidy On Flight Tickets When They 'Balik Kampung'
FLYsiswa will continue to benefit 60,000 students from underprivileged families.
Good news for students!
During Budget 2024 today, 13 October, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim proposed for FLYsiswa to continue to subsidise flight tickets for students who want to return home.
It will benefit 60,000 students from underprivileged families.
FLYsiswa is an initiative for public university students to receive a subsidy when they purchase one-way or round-trip flight tickets for domestic routes between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. The routes must be between students' hometowns and places of study.
In July, RM300 vouchers were handed out to eligible students. These were the participating airlines previously:
— Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and MASwings
— airasia
— Batik Air
— MYAirline
— Firefly
