Zafrul said this is the highest single payout as the previous financial aid programme's — Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) — highest payout was RM1,800.

Families with two children and have an income lower than RM2,500 will receive RM1,500

While families with no children and an income lower than RM2,500 will receive RM1,000 under BKM, said the minister.

Single mothers and fathers with an income lower than RM5,000 will receive RM500; senior citizens will receive RM300.

"This means that single mothers and fathers with three children and more are eligible to receive a maximum of RM2,500," said Zafrul.
