Bank Officer Faces A Possible 2-Year Jail Sentence For Flashing Middle Finger At Cops

A man who works as a bank officer was arrested for making an obscene gesture at the police during a roadblock in Petaling Jaya on Saturday, 26 September
The 39-year-old man was a passenger of an e-hailing vehicle, reported Free Malaysia Today.
Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said police, who were on duty on Persiaran Tropicana, Kota Damansara at 11.30pm, stopped the vehicle for inspection.
"However, the suspect made an obscene gesture by showing his middle finger and uttered foul language at policemen on duty and refused to cooperate," he said yesterday, 27 September.
The suspect also acted aggressively, which led to his arrest
In a statement, Nik Ezanee said the police had to use minimum force to apprehend him before taking him to a police station.
The suspect will be remanded for three days to facilitate the investigation
According to Bernama, the case will be investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing civil servants from discharging their duties and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for using indecent and insulting words with the intention to provoke.
If convicted, he could face up to two years' jail, a RM10,000 fine, or both for the first provision, while a RM100 fine for the second provision.
