#Budget2023: Poverty Line Income To Increase From RM980 To RM1,168
The Finance Minister said people who earn below the poverty line will receive RM40 in electric subsidy.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said the government will be giving RM40 in electric subsidy to Malaysians with an income below the poverty threshold
He made the announcement during the tabling of the Supply Bill 2023 today, 7 October.
Zafrul said the government will expand the number of people who receive the subsidy after increasing the poverty line income from RM980 to RM1,169, an increment of RM189.
"I hope by increasing the poverty line income, the implementation will benefit more rakyat," said the minister.
