A Standard Five student with cerebral palsy has suffered serious spinal injuries and is currently bedridden after a common prank at school

The mother of the girl, @azera5276, posted the incident on TikTok, hoping other students would not repeat the same stunt on their classmates.

The mother claimed that her daughter, Iqa, was hurt after her friend played a practical joke by pulling the girl's chair out from under her as she was trying to sit down.

"Everyone needs to be reminded of the danger of such pranks. Now we have to go through this, please pray for Iqa's quick recovery," said the mother.

"All this while, I really struggled so much to raise Iqa. Even though she has cerebral palsy, I've taught her to be independent and treat her no different from my other children," she added.

In a follow up video, the girl can be seen being transferred for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan in her bed

"She just did her MRI scan last night and was crying because her hips hurt," the mother wrote in the video caption.

"We will be going in and out of the hospital for her to do physiotherapy... Mum and Dad will do our best for you, you are our only daughter," Azera added.

The MRI results showed that Iqa suffered a fracture in her tailbone, bulging discs, and bruising on her bones

The latest video, posted on Wednesday, 18 October, showed Iqa in a better mood as she is seated in a wheelchair while being discharged from the hospital.

"She requires a pillow when she sits... but she cannot sit for too long either and needs to rest (lying down). Please be patient, Iqa," wished the mother.

The first video of the incident has since gone viral with 1.5 million views, with many netizens saying they were also victims of such pranks during their schooling days

"I've been suffering for 32 years because of cases like this. I have an L1-L5 slip disc and just had a steroid injection on 5 October, but the pain is still there. I swear by Allah I won't forgive them," said a TikTok user.

Some commenters said they should ask the other student's family to pay for all of Iqa's treatment costs until she is fully recovered.

Meanwhile, another netizen said, "There are many cases like this. Teachers should remind their students about the dangers of this prank. My nephew still hasn't recovered since his friend pulled his chair from under him."
