A dashcam video showing a boy falling out of a moving vehicle before being hit by two cars in Kota Bahru, Kelantan has shocked many Malaysians

In the one-minute video posted on Facebook, a boy is seen falling out of the back passenger door of a dark-coloured Honda City, while it is making a U-turn at a traffic light junction along Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra.

Before the boy can stand, he is first grazed by a white sedan.

Then, upon standing, he is struck by a red sports utility vehicle (SUV), which propels him approximately one metre backwards.

Despite the impact, the child is able to stand up, looking confused. A kind onlooker, who is on a motorcycle, immediately gets the boy off the busy road and takes him to safety.

The Honda City from which the child fell can be seen coming to a stop on the side of the road some distance from the junction.

New Straits Times reported that the incident unfolded at 5.42pm yesterday, 17 October.

The police are currently looking for the driver of the Honda City, and are investigating the case for reckless and dangerous driving

Kelantan Traffic Enforcement Investigation Department chief Supt Suhaimi Jusoh said the boy falling out of the car might have been precipitated by the driver's alleged negligence in failing to lock the car's left door and not securing a seat belt on the child, reported New Straits Times.

He said the police department has yet to receive any formal reports regarding the incident, but urged eyewitnesses to come forward and provide assistance in their ongoing investigation.

Those who witnessed the incident can reach out to Insp Khairul Anuar Abdul Aziz at +609-7752355.
