The father of a Malaysian child actress has been arrested following a police report lodged by the 15-year-old alleging he has been sexually abusing her since 2013

The child actress' father was arrested yesterday, 7 September in Kedah and is currently being investigated for outraging the modesty of an individual, child neglect, and possession of pornographic material.

Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said in a brief statement that the suspect was detained by police at 2.25pm, reported Berita Harian.

The suspect is now under remand until 12 September to allow for further investigation

Wan Azlan also stated that the suspect tested negative for drugs and has no prior criminal history.

The police also seized the man's phone, which will be sent to the Forensic Department for analysis.

"The victim claimed that her father even made her watch pornography on his mobile phone when she was a child until just five years ago," said Wan Azlan on Tuesday, 6 September.

The victim also stated that the incident happened when she was six years old, he added. Her family was living in the Subang Jaya at the time and the incident happened when her mother was not at home.
