More details have emerged following the discovery of a woman's body stuffed inside a suitcase at an apartment in Taman Impian Indah, Kajang
The landlord of the apartment has claimed that the victim had been living with a man who introduced himself as her husband, but said the man has since become unreachable.
According to the landlord, the pair rented the apartment around three months ago and claimed to be a married couple during the tenancy process, China Press reported.
However, due to a language barrier, he said he knew very little about them beyond that.
The landlord described the woman as being around 30 years old, while the man was said to have blonde hair and multiple tattoos.
He also claimed the couple had repeatedly delayed rental payments.
According to the landlord, the man contacted him last month requesting more time to pay, saying he was unwell. He later sought another extension until 8 June, but the outstanding rent was never settled.
Following the discovery of the woman's body, the landlord said he repeatedly tried calling the man but was unable to reach him
The landlord further alleged that the man may have returned to Nepal after the incident, although this has not been confirmed by police.
The victim's body was discovered on Sunday night, 28 June, after the landlord visited the apartment when he was unable to contact his tenants.
Upon entering the unit, he noticed a strong foul smell before finding a suitcase concealed inside a cardboard box in the living room.
Police later found the woman's body inside.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder
Police have yet to disclose the victim's identity, name any suspects, or announce any arrests.
Investigations are ongoing.
