Delivery Rider Gets Unexpected Surprise While Collecting Food For Malaysian Customer
The restaurant shared the customer's kind act.
There has been a spike in the need for delivery riders, who are working tirelessly to deliver food and groceries to Malaysians during this time
The demand has been so great that even Grab drivers have temporarily become delivery drivers during this Movement Control Order (MCO).
Wanting to appreciate all their hard work, a Malaysian woman recently decided to surprise her delivery rider with something to brighten his day
On 2 April, Liyana Zamri ordered and paid for two beef burger sets from myBurgerLab.
The restaurant took a photo of the woman's gesture and posted it on their Facebook page.
Instead of ordering the food for herself, she decided to belanja the food delivery guy with the meals
Her note, which was included with the order, read:
"Hi Grab driver, you don't need to send to this address. Yesterday was my birthday and it's my treat to a few of you who are working hard.
"Give the other set to another rider okay? Be careful while riding the motorbike! Stay safe!"
To thank her for her kind act, myBurgerLab told Liyana that they hope to give her a treat in return
"Liyana Zamri. You are an outstanding citizen. After MCO is over, we belanja you and your friends burger k. Happy Belated Birthday!", they wrote in the caption.
In response, the 23-year-old shared that she had no idea the restaurant would see her note to the rider and had just wanted to do something nice for their hard work.
The post even caught the attention of GrabFood themselves, who were inspired by Liyana's kind act and decided to pay it forward
Liyana shared a screenshot of the delivery service buying a meal for one of their riders.
"By talking about this, I hope it inspires Malaysians to lend a hand however possible. It might be something as simple as staying at home, just do your part Malaysians. A little goes a long way," Liyana wrote in the caption.
