Dog Saved Newborn After Finding Him Buried Alive By His 15-Year-Old Mother
The teenager was trying to hide her pregnancy from her parents.
On 15 May, a disabled dog named Ping Pong was digging near a field in Bangkok, Thailand when he found a newborn buried in the dirt
The dog barked repeatedly to get the attention of nearby farmers in Ban Long Kham village in Cham Phuang district, The Guardian reported.
Thanks to Ping Pong's digging, locals arrived at the location to see one of the baby boy's legs sticking out of the earth
The newborn was discovered to have been abandoned by his 15-year-old mother who was trying to hide her pregnancy from her parents
The teenager has been charged with child abandonment and attempted murder.
Officer Panuwat Puttakam from Chum Phuang police station told Bangkok Post that she regrets her actions and is in the care of her parents and psychologist.
The girl's parents have decided to raise the baby.
Though Ping Pong only has three working legs after getting hit by a car, his owner Usa Nisaikha kept him because "he's so loyal and obedient"
"He's loved by the entire village. It's amazing," he said.
