US President Donald Trump has faced backlash for posting a 34-second AI-generated video depicting war-torn Gaza Strip as a vacation paradise

The video begins with scenes of Gaza in ruins, accompanied by a caption that reads, "Gaza 2025. What's next?"

In the next scene, Gaza appears rebuilt as a tourist destination, with Tesla vehicles roaming the streets.

The ruins of Gaza are replaced with skyscrapers, children running on the beach, and people strolling through evening street markets. The waterfront is lined with hotels, yachts, and beach umbrellas, bustling with tourists.

The video also features gold statues, balloons, and trophies of Donald Trump, along with a Trump Hotel tower.

Trump's political supporter, Elon Musk, appears prominently throughout the video. He is seen dancing under flying money, eating, and strolling.

The US president is also shown dancing with a scantily clad performer and drinking cocktails with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 6.1 million views and 20,000 comments on Instagram

Netizens criticised the US president for posting the insensitive video.

"What the f--k is this?" read a top comment with 21,000 likes.

"Delete this, it's horrible," wrote an Instagram user, while another added, "I voted for you three times. This is in awful taste."

"The most disgusting thing a president ever posted on social media," remarked a netizen.

"Sorry, Trump. You have definitely crossed a non-negotiable line for me," read another comment.

Some comments were supportive of Trump, who in February said Palestinians should be forced out of Gaza so that it could be rebuilt as a US-run "Riviera of the Middle East".

Donald Trump said the US "do a job with" Gaza on 4 February:
