Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the Ministry of Higher Education will receive an allocation of RM18.6 billion

Of the total, over RM400 million has been earmarked for the maintenance of infrastructure and the replacement of old equipment at public universities, polytechnics, and community colleges.
Here are the planned improvements for higher education next year:
1. The government and Government-Linked Companies (GLICs) have allocated RM4.4 billion for scholarships, loans, and education allowances

This is to help young people from low-income families continue their studies.
To encourage private sector involvement, a double tax deduction will be given to companies for scholarship expenses for qualified students. This incentive covers Bachelor's Degree scholarships and has been expanded to include professional qualifications in fields such as ICT, engineering, accounting, and finance.
2. The Celik MADANI programme by PNB will be continued
This programme will provide an initial RM50 investment in ASB or ASM for 200,000 students. PNB will also offer an additional five billion units for ASB 3 Didik and ASM.
3. The Ministry of Higher Education will receive a RM26 million allocation for the Ikhtiar Dapur MADANI initiative
This initiative aims to supply university students with cooking equipment and raw materials. This programme will also facilitate food aid for underprivileged students through private sector CSR contributions.
4. The MySiswa Job On Campus programme will provide part-time job opportunities on campus with a RM20 million allocation
This initiative is designed to help underprivileged students earn income while developing entrepreneurial skills that they can use after graduation.
5. The government also aims to address the student accommodation crisis
In an effort to address the current student accommodation crisis, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and the University of Malaya (UM) will collaborate on a pilot project to build 1,000 residential units at the university.
