Families of Malaysians who die in 2026 may be entitled to a RM1,000 payment under the Death Compassionate Scheme (SKK) 2026

According to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN), the scheme covers Malaysian citizen STR 2026 applicants and their spouses who die between 1 January and 31 December 2026, provided they had an approved STR application for Phase 1, 2, or 3.

The benefit is RM1,000 for each eligible deceased individual.

The scheme therefore applies separately to an eligible STR applicant and spouse if both meet the requirements.

The payment can be collected at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN)

Unlike regular STR payments, the SKK benefit will be claimed in cash at BSN branches.

Families can check the full eligibility requirements and claim details through the official STR portal.

The scheme covers deaths occurring up to 31 December 2026.
