The headmaster of a religious secondary school in Kelantan was recently arrested for allegedly raping a student

New Straits Times reported that the suspect is believed to have raped the teenager several times over the past three years since she was 13 years old.

His actions were exposed a few days ago before he was arrested today, 10 December, at his home in Machang.

The suspect is married with three children and has been working at the school for several years.

Initial investigations found that the two were in a relationship together and they often kept in touch without their families' knowledge.

Kelantan police chief DCP Shafien Mamat told Berita Harian that a third party revealed the incident via the e-Kasih hotline.

"Before police sent the teen to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital, she admitted to the incident after being approached by her parents," he added.

"The suspect's modus operandi is to take the student to school several times a week while other students and teachers are not present. The rape happened at the school."

The suspect will be remanded soon, as reported by New Straits Times.
