It's Official: Najib And Rosmah Are No Longer Datuk Seri's In Negeri Sembilan

The Negeri Sembilan palace announced the decision with immediate effect today, 26 October.

Former premier Najib Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor no longer have their 'Datuk Seri' titles in Negeri Sembilan effective today, 26 October

According to Malaysiakini, the Negeri Sembilan palace stripped Najib and Rosmah of their titles today with immediate effect.

Najib had the 'Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan' title, while Rosmah had the 'Darjah Seri Paduka Tuanku Ja'afar Yang Amat Terpuji' title.

According to the state's registrar of titles, the decision was made at a special meeting today

The Malaysian Insight reported Dr. Razali Ab Malik from the registrar as saying that the meeting of the awards, titles, and honours committee was held at Istana Besar Seri Menanti, Negeri Sembilan today.

Najib was awarded his title in 2005, while Rosmah received hers in 2006.

Nonetheless, the couple still holds titles from other states

According to The Star, Najib has 'Datuk Seri' titles from other states including:

- Pahang,
- Melaka,
- Sabah,
- Sarawak,
- Penang,
- Kelantan,
- Kedah, and
- Perlis.

Meanwhile, Rosmah has titles from Pahang, Melaka, Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah and Selangor.
