JB Man Who Threatened His Daughter With A Samurai Sword And Raped Her Finally Goes To Jail
He will face 18 years in jail and 15 strokes of the cane.

An ex-army sergeant was sentenced yesterday, 27 November, to 18 years in jail and 15 strokes of the cane for incest and sodomy towards his own daughter
Channel NewsAsia reported that Judge Jailani Rahman of the Johor Bahru Sessions Court found the man guilty of two charges.
The first charge, reported Malaysiakini, falls under Section 376B of the Penal Code and provides a maximum imprisonment for 30 years and also liable to whipping, upon conviction of incest.
The second charge falls under Section 377C of the Penal Code for sodomy.
The man had threatened his daughter by pointing a samurai sword at her neck before committing the acts upon her against her will
Channel NewsAsia reported that the incident occurred at the man's house in Taman Pelangi Indah, Johor Bahru on 15 March 2016 at 2am.
The victim, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, is the eldest of his four children and also suffers from epilepsy.
The accused had pleaded for a light sentence under the reasoning that he was "remorseful" and it was his first offence
In a report by Harian Metro, the man also cited his loss of pension and gratuity payments after being laid off as other reasons.
However, deputy public prosecutor Siti Asmah Zainal Ariffin called for the court to impose a harsh punishment on the man for such a serious offence, which has resulted in traumatic and psychological effects on the victim who is his own flesh and blood.
The man appealed for a stay of the sentence and was allowed bail of RM12,000, reported Channel NewsAsia.
