A man in Kedah was recently arrested for growing cannabis plants right outside of his home
To evade arrest, the man told authorities that the ganja trees were bamboo plants instead
Kota Setar ACP Superintendent Mohd Redzuan Salleh told Harian Metro that after being questioned by the police, the suspect admitted that the plants were indeed ganja and they were grown for personal use.
Officers found four cannabis plants outside of the man's house and they were as tall as one storey.
All of the plants were seized by the authorities and they were taken to the Kota Setar district police headquarters. Mohd Redzuan added that they are currently investigating how 'Mat Tarzan' obtained cannabis seeds.
The case has been classified under Section 6B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for the illegal cultivation of cannabis and Section 15 for personal drug use
