On Sunday, 24 October, Langkawi police held an appreciation ceremony for the Labrador for his help in catching a drug dealer

According to a Facebook post uploaded yesterday, PDRM said Black managed to uncover a suspect's hidden collection of drugs worth RM7,584 during a raid operation earlier this year.

Police had raided the the drug dealer's house in Kampung Kelibang on 2 February and arrested the offender but were unable to locate his stash of drugs, reported Harian Metro.

They called in Black who successfully sniffed out 126.4g of heroin in several plastic packs hidden under a box in a hut near the man's house.

For his hard work, Black was awarded a lot of food and a certificate of appreciation on Sunday morning

The awards, presented by Kedah police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat, was received by Black's trainer, L/Cpl Johan Anak Jame in a short ceremony.

The ceremony was livestreamed on Facebook and it can be seen that many officers came to give Black their support and praise.

The K-9 personnel looked mighty happy as he stumbled on stage to sniff and accept the rewards.
