KL Catholic Church Mass Attendee Tests Positive For COVID-19
The parishioner was asymptomatic when they attended mass on 27 September.

The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur (ArchKL) disclosed on Wednesday, 14 October, that a parishioner of a church in Kuala Lumpur tested positive for COVID-19
In a statement, ArchKL said an attendee at the 9.15am Tamil Mass on 27 September at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Jalan Peel has tested positive for COVID-19 on 12 October.
"The patient was asymptomatic at that point in time and had attended mass before all public masses were suspended," they explained.
"The parish had also fully complied with the National Security Council's (MKN) standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Archdiocesan guidelines before, during, and after the mass, to reduce the risk of infection."
They added that the patient is currently undergoing treatment in Sungai Buloh Hospital.
The archdiocese urged those who attended the same mass and have begun to display symptoms to seek medical attention immediately
"We urge all the faithful to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions to remain safe, and request that parishioners and attendees of the mass on 27 September to remain calm," ArchKL said.
According to New Straits Times, the church has already been working with public health authorities and provided them with churchgoers' contact information and details of the church's seating arrangement.
"The district health office is currently investigating the matter and will be in touch with the relevant contacts of the patient as part of contact tracing efforts."
All public masses at the Church of Sacred Heart have been suspended since 7 October in compliance with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO)
The church was also fully closed on Wednesday, 14 October, for complete sanitisation of its facilities and common areas.
