Kuching Man Allegedly Sold His 10-Year-Old Daughter To Friend For Sex

The 45-year-old father was arrested after his daughter told her school teacher about it.

The Magistrate's Court in Kuching, Sarawak has extended the remand of a 45-year-old man who has been accused of selling his 10-year-old daughter for sexual services

According to The Borneo Post, the father, who is the first suspect in the case, was arrested on 27 September, after his daughter told her school teacher about his actions and lodged a police report about it.

It is believed that the 45-year-old was selling his daughter to a friend for sexual services

He was subsequently arrested on 27 September around 2pm in Matang, while his friend, the second suspect, was arrested on 29 September.

They were both placed under remand to assist in investigations.

The first suspect was previously remanded for five days from 28 September

However, yesterday, 3 October, Magistrate Zaiton Anuar extended the remand order until 10 October, which means the man will be held for a further seven days.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old second suspect has been remanded from 30 September to 6 October.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(b) of the Child Act 2001 for child neglect and abandonment and Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
