A Malaysian engineer has touched many online after sharing how he is carrying on his late father's legacy through the newly opened Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3)
Emir Irfan Mohd Zufri, 32, shared a Threads post featuring two photographs taken nearly three decades apart, showing him and his father in strikingly similar moments.
One photo showed his late father in Vancouver, Canada, during training for Malaysia's first driverless urban rail system in 1997, while the other captured Emir on the newly opened LRT3.

Emir's father dedicated 25 years to the rail industry, starting as an operations planner before contributing to the early stages of the LRT3 project
"My late father never got the chance to see LRT3 completed, even though he was involved from the early stages of the project before retiring in 2021," Emir told the New Straits Times
Originally an automotive major, Emir joined the rail industry as a maintenance engineer in late 2020 before moving to the LRT3 project in 2023.

"When my father was still around, he would often ask about the LRT3's progress. It felt like I was reporting back to my bosses every time he asked," Emir recalled
He added that he is still learning new things and doing his best alongside his team to serve the public on the newly launched line.
The Shah Alam LRT3 line officially opened on Sunday, linking Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang, and recording 60,000 passenger trips on its first day.
Here are the stations and places you can get to via the LRT3.
