Jogger Left Bloodied In Early Morning Snatch Theft Attempt In Shah Alam
The suspect was armed with a machete.
A man who was jogging in a housing area in Shah Alam, Selangor was attacked and injured by a snatch thief on Thursday morning, 9 November
According to The Star, Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said that the 30-year-old victim was exercising outdoors in Seksyen 27 at 5.50am when a motorcyclist approached him.
"The suspect was brandishing a machete and... tried to snatch the victim's bag.
"However, the victim fought back, which led to him getting injured by the suspect," he said.
Earlier, a WhatsApp screenshot showing the victim covered in blood was circulated on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Accompanying the photo were messages claiming that the incident occurred in front of a school in Seksyen 27. The messages also urged nearby residents to be vigilant when jogging in the area in the mornings.

He added that the victim sought treatment at Shah Alam Hospital and filed a police report about the incident on Thursday night.
"Efforts to trace the suspect are underway. This is the first time (a snatch theft was reported in) this area... it is not a known hotspot," said the police chief.
