Motorcyclist In Johor Dies After Crashing Into A Cow And Being Dragged 60M By A Car
The driver who hit the motorcyclist did not notice the body on the road due to the fact that there were no streetlights at the location.
A 23-year-old man in Johor was recently killed in a tragic accident
According to Harian Metro, the incident took place last night, 4 May, around 8.45pm.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Hussin Zamora said that the victim has been identified as Mazrul Hakimi Miskan from Felda Air Tawar 4.
While on the way from Jalan Sungai Rengit-Kota Tinggi headed towards Felda Semenchu, the man crashed into a cow and fell off his motorcycle
"About 2km from the exit towards the Felda Semenchu main road, the victim crashed into a cow that was crossing the road," Hussin explained.
"He then fell and was sprawled on the ground while his motorcycle skidded to the side of the road."
After that, a 19-year-old driving a Proton Wira from the opposite lane hit the victim and dragged his body as far as 60m.
He did not notice the victim on the road due to the fact that there were no streetlights at the location.
Mazrul died at the scene after sustaining severe injuries to his head
Meanwhile, the driver of the Proton Wira escaped with no injuries.
The body has been taken to Kota Tinggi Hospital for further action and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
While speaking to Berita Harian, Hussin said, "Road users are advised to always be careful while driving, especially in dark areas, in order to avoid accidents as danger is unpredictable. Be mindful drivers and the safety of road users is everyone's responsibility."
