A man caught on video steering his motorcycle using his feet while drinking from a plastic bag in his hand has been remanded

According to Bernama, police were looking for the man after the 41-second video of him went viral on social media over the weekend.

On Sunday, 13 September, Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said they believed the incident occurred on Jalan Kuching, heading towards Batu Caves, Selangor.

Based on the motorcycle's number plate, the police managed to find the suspect's home

"The police tracked down the motorcycle to a house in Selayang Baru, and found the vehicle and its owner who is the suspect's father. However, the suspect was not around," Zulkefly said, adding that the police first seized the vehicle that was used in the video.

However, later in the day, the 36-year-old suspect surrendered himself to Jalan Bandar traffic police station

The police chief said in a brief statement to Bernama that the suspect tested positive for drugs.

He added that the case is now being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug use, instead of merely under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
