Chow Kon Yeow, the Penang caretaker menteri besar (MB), has officially won the Padang Kota seat

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate received a total of 8,261 votes, while his opponent Perikatan Nasional's (PN) H'ng Khoon Leng received 1,145 votes, according to Myundi.

The Election Commission's (EC) official website stated that Padang Kota has 15,165 eligible voters, which brings today's total turnout rate in the area to 62%.

Last month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that Chow will remain as the Penang MB should PH win the state election, reported Free Malaysia Today.
