On Saturday, 1 January, a security guard spotted the body of an unidentified woman in a lake near the Sky Ride Presint 2, Putrajaya
According to Putrajaya district police chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz, it is believed that the body, which was in a bloated and rotting state, could have been in the water for about two to three days.
The discovery, Asmadi shared, was made by one of the security guards at Skyrides Festival Park Putrajaya at about 6.30pm while patrolling. The guard then informed his employer.
"Following which, the employer called the police at 6.55pm and then, the officer on duty rushed to the scene," Utusan Malaysia quoted him as saying today, 2 January.
The police have so far been unable to ascertain her identity
The deceased, about 160cm tall, was in a black mini-skirt with a Versace belt and a black blazer over a blue T-shirt. There were three silver rings on her right hand and a silver bracelet on her right wrist.
Her race and age have not yet been ascertained.
Asmadi noted that there's also no missing person report
"The body was sent to the Putrajaya Hospital Forensic Department at 9.40pm last night for autopsy, however, the date and time of the autopsy has not been determined by the hospital," he added.
For now, the case has been classified as sudden death
The authorities are waiting for the autopsy report as well as trying to trace the identity.
Asmadi urged the public who may have any information related to the incident and the victim to contact the Putrajaya police at +603-88862145 or the investigating Officer Inspector Hafiza at +6019-8926572.
