Police are tracking down the owner of a car who placed a police vest on the car's dashboard while double-parking and causing congestion

The incident is believed to have occurred at a street market near the Sultan Abdul Aziz Recreation Park, also commonly known as Padang Polo, at Persiaran Brash in Ipoh, Perak.

According to New Straits Times, Ipoh district police chief ACP Yahaya Hassan said the police became aware of the viral photos on Twitter on Monday, 6 March.

The photos show a black Proton Saga displaying a police vest on its dashboard, as if the owner placed it there to excuse themselves from parking illegally in the middle of the road.

Besides the owner of the black car, the police said they are also looking for the individual who uploaded the photos to assist in investigations

"The person can contact the Ipoh Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief deputy Supt Koo Boon Kuat at +6016-41732222 to help identify the owner of the car," Yahaya said in a statement.

He also advised the public not to speculate on the matter as it could interfere with the investigation and damage the reputation of the police.
