As the number of the crowd present at the rally grew over the last half an hour, police personnel who were around the area came and turned on the siren, our reporter added.

The rally is happening after the Kuala Lumpur police chief issued a warning, saying that the organisers did not seek police permission

"It's an illegal rally as it will be done all of sudden, there's no notice and it didn't follow procedures, I advise people not to attend this rally," Mazlan Lazim was quoted as saying by Astro Awani.

The organisers will face legal charges if they proceed.

Meanwhile, cartoonist cum activist Fahmi Reza was also spotted at the rally. He was carrying a caricature of Muhyiddin.
