Police Detain 4 Students For Performing 'Superman' Motorcycle Stunt On Highway
The police are still tracking down another suspect believed to be involved in the case.
Police have detained three undergraduates and one secondary school student in Pahang for performing dangerous 'Superman' stunts on their motorcycles on the East Coast Expressway
According to Berita Harian, the arrests were made yesterday, 27 December, after a video of the students performing illegal stunts on the Sultan Ahmad Shah Bridge last Sunday, 24 December, went viral on social media.
The 28-second clip showed a group of motorcyclists speeding on the highway while the riders attempted to lie flat on their stomachs against their motorcycle seats, a stunt known as the 'Superman', before one lost control and fell on the road.
The other riders were then also seen falling onto the road as they attempted to avoid their fallen comrade and his motorcycle.
After the video went viral, Temerloh district police chief ACP Mazlan Hassan said the Traffic Enforcement Investigation Unit initiated a tracking and arrest operation
Mazlan said the police arrested four suspects aged 15, 19, 20, and 22, at their respective homes in Temerloh and Maran to assist in the investigation.
"The police also found the Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycles that were used [by the suspects].
"All the riders were also found to have injuries on their palms, knees, shoulders, back, and legs. Another suspect is still missing," he said.
