Police Detain Youths Who Refused To Leave After Chanting Outside Subang Temple
70 demonstrators gathered outside the Sri Maha Mariamman Devasthanam temple last night, 27 November.
At least five of 70 youths who gathered outside the Sri Maha Mariamman Devasthanam temple last night, 27 November, were detained after they refused to disperse
According to Free Malaysia Today, police had ordered the youths to disperse after they were seen chanting outside the temple.
However, the youths ignored the order for nearly three hours.
The youths chanted "Hidup Melayu" and "Allahuakbar" as they marched towards the temple
Malay Mail reported the group's spokesman as saying that they meant to gather peacefully, and it was not an "attack" on the Indians.
"We're just here to express ourselves and not for political reasons, we're asking them to not step on the Malays," spokesman Shahrizad Sahak was quoted as saying by Malay Mail.
"What we are asking is that, do not force us... Do not sideline the Malays," he added.
Meanwhile, a special task force has been formed by Bukit Aman to hunt down people involved in the riot on Monday
Malaysiakini reported Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun as saying that the task force from Bukit Aman will assist the Selangor police in identifying the rioters.
