Did You Lose Your Bag With RM500,000 In A Damansara Mall? Police Are Looking For Its Owner
Police said the money will be handed over to the courts if no one comes forward to claim it.
The police are looking for the owner of a luggage bag containing RM500,000 that was left at a shopping mall's parking lot in Damansara, Petaling Jaya
According to the Berita Harian, the bag was handed over to the police by one of the mall's security guards at 8pm yesterday, 20 March.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the bank notes inside the luggage bag consisted of RM100, RM50, and RM10 denominations.
The pink-and-white bag was unlocked when it was discovered by the security guard.
Hussein also said that there are no CCTV cameras monitoring the area where the bag was abandoned
"Anyone who has left this huge amount of money can come to the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters to claim it.
"We believe the money is real, but we will check with Bank Negara Malaysia," the New Straits Times quoted the state police chief as saying.
Hussein added that if the rightful owner does not come forward, the money will be handed over to the courts for further action, reported Berita Harian.
