Beginning 1 February, persons with disability (OKU) will be able to take train and bus rides operated by Prasarana Malaysia Bhd for free

In a statement yesterday, 14 January, Prasarana announced that the OKU Smile pass will officially roll out next month.

This pass is available for both existing Prasarana OKU concession cardholders and new applicants who are persons with disabilities.

"The introduction of this initiative is a follow-up to the announcement by Transport Minister Anthony Loke on 21 December about a free fare incentive for the disabled community for all rail and bus services operated by Prasarana," stated the public transport company wholly owned by the Finance Ministry.

It added that existing Prasarana OKU concession cardholders can activate the OKU Smile pass at any Rapid KL LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, and selected bus hub counters beginning today, 15 January.

Non-Prasarana OKU concession cardholders can apply for the OKU Smile pass beginning today as well

To apply for the pass, applicants can visit MyRapid's official website here.

If persons with disability wish to apply in person, they can visit selected concession registration counters, bringing along their identification card and OKU card issued by the Welfare Department for verification purposes.

The cards will be issued within 10 to 15 minutes.

KTM & Rapid KL rides will be free on 24 and 25 January:
