Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk K & Dr Zulkifli Among Those Fined For Breaching SOP At Tahnik Event

This came after police identified a report published by a news portal regarding netizens' dissatisfaction towards a tahnik ceremony held by a celebrity at her home.

Popular singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, along with her husband, Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa, have each been fined for failing to abide by standard operating procedures (SOPs) under the Movement Control Order (MCO)

According to Harian Metro, the songbird and her spouse were found to have flouted the MCO at a tahnik ceremony for their newborn child.

The celebration was held at Siti Nurhaliza's home in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang on 26 April.

The couple was fined RM10,000 each.

Previously, Ampang district police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said that investigations were carried out after receiving a report regarding the ceremony on 3 May.

He told Berita Harian, "We identified a report published by a news portal regarding netizens' dissatisfaction towards a tahnik ceremony held by a celebrity at her home."

"There were also several photos in the report showing the presence of several public figures and famous religious preachers at the event," he added.

Besides that, the report alleged that public figures and celebrity religious preachers attended the event without approval from the police to cross state borders and that the guests lived outside of Selangor.

The report also stated that the ceremony was conducted without complying with the SOPs.

"In this regard, we have conducted an investigation in accordance with Rule 19 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations," he said.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, along with the Datuk K's three adult children, were fined RM2,000 each for attending the event

Selangor police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed told Harian Metro that celebrity preachers Ustaz Azhar Idrus, Ustaz Don Daniyal, and Ustaz Iqbal were also issued RM2,000 compounds.
