Recently, a woman was caught on camera throwing herself on top of a Proton Wira's bonnet to stop the moving car at a traffic junction.

Turns out, the car was being driven by her husband, who had undergone treatment for several diseases at Port Dickson Hospital.

She was concerned about the health of her husband, who is 58 years old.

The 32-year-old woman had instructed him not to leave the house. However, he disregarded the advice and left their home in Port Dickson to travel to their children's house in Teluk Kemang.

After a video clip of the incident went viral on Sunday, 23 April, and the police got involved, the couple went to the Port Dickson police station this morning, 26 April, to explain the situation.

When she noticed her husband leaving their home, the woman asked a neighbour for help. He gave her a ride on his motorcycle until she spotted her husband at the Batu 1 traffic light junction to Jalan Pantai Port Dickson.

"Without delay, the woman stopped the car being driven by her husband, and at the same time, her action was being recorded until the video went viral on social media," Port Dickson police deputy chief deputy Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said in a statement, as reported by New Straits Times.

The couple has now expressed regret for their behaviour and said they also understood that the incident put them and other members of the public at risk.

It was not reported if any police action will be taken against the couple.
