Unemployed Man In Penang Caught Trying To Break Cash Deposit Machine At A Bank
It is believed the motive could have been due to the financial difficulties he is facing.

Last night, 23 June, a 39-year-old man from George Town was caught trying to break a cash deposit machine (CDM) at a bank in Balik Pulau
The incident happened at an AmBank branch in Lintang Bukit Penara, Penang.
According to Southwest district police chief SP Kamarul Rizal Jenal, they were alerted by the bank's assistant manager after he heard the bank's alarm system go off at 9.40pm.
Police rushed to the bank and caught the suspect in action, reported New Straits Times.
He had managed to break the barrier door of one of the two CDM machines at the bank, but could not open the money withdrawal slot
The suspect was taken into custody before he could break the CDM machine.
Police believe the man had used a metal rod to attempt to break the CDM machine.
"An inspection at the scene found that the suspect committed the crime alone and he failed to take any money as only the outside of the machine was damaged. The investigation also found that the suspect, who is still single, lives in the North-East district," MalaysiaGazette quoted Kamarul as saying.
The unemployed man is facing financial difficulties
Kamarul said the man is unemployed and that he had taken a bus from George Town to Balik Pulau.
"We believe the motive could have been due to the difficulties he is facing," he said, adding that the suspect has four previous records involving drug offences.
The case is being investigated under Section 380, Section 511, and Section 427 of the Penal Code.
