Students at higher education institutions (IPTs) across Malaysia can begin redeeming their RM100 MADANI book vouchers from 11am today, 15 July
Eligible students at public universities (IPTAs), polytechnics, community colleges, and private higher education institutions (IPTS) can check their eligibility, generate and redeem their vouchers, and purchase books through the MySiswaPlace portal.
According to the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), around 1.18 million students nationwide are expected to benefit from the initiative.
The government previously announced that the book voucher programme had switched to a fully digital system to ensure all allocations are used solely for purchasing books
According to Bernama, MOHE said the initiative aims to help ease students' financial burden when purchasing reading materials while improving access to quality knowledge resources.
"The continuation of this initiative reflects the MADANI government's ongoing commitment to strengthening the culture of reading and lifelong learning, while helping university students obtain the reading materials they need throughout their studies, stimulating the growth of the national book industry, strengthening the local publishing ecosystem, and supporting the sustainability of the knowledge industry," the ministry said.
MOHE said more than 300 local publishers and booksellers have registered as business partners on the MySiswaPlace platform
Students can use their vouchers to purchase a wide variety of reading materials, including academic textbooks, reference books, scholarly publications, e-books, and general reading materials to support their learning.
