[VIDEO] Car Driver Arrested For Crashing Into Couple On Highway Emergency Lane

Police have arrested a man after videos of a Toyota Camry allegedly crashing into a couple on a motorcycle went viral on social media
The widely-circulated dashcam videos show a couple falling off their motorcycle after allegedly being hit by the white car as it turned onto the KL-Karak Expressway's emergency lane.
Instead of stopping, the car was recorded speeding away.
According to Bernama, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias said the videos had sparked outrage among netizens.
One of the videos garnered over 500,000 views and more than 7,000 shares.
Based on information from the videos, the police managed to arrest the driver a few hours after the incident
Initial investigations found that the incident occured at KM56 of the KL-Karak Highway on Monday, 31 August at around 3pm.
According to Berita Harian, the victims had also not yet lodged a police report when the driver of the car surrendered himself to the police station in Gombak at around 6.50pm.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the 1987 Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving
If found guilty, first time offenders are liable to a maximum jail term of five years and a fine of between RM5,000 and RM15,000.
The JSPT director also said the two victims have received outpatient treatment at Bentong Hospital for minor injuries sustained from the crash.
