[VIDEO] Driver Rams Into GrabFood Rider In Hit-And-Run Accident
The 23-year-old suffered several injuries to his limbs and his motorcycle was damaged.
Dashcam footage uploaded to Twitter on Thursday evening, 24 September, shows a car hitting a GrabFood Rider in Subang
The impact was so severe that the GrabFood Rider was thrown off his motorcycle. In the footage, he could be seen tumbling along the road as his motorcycle skids across the road and hits the divider.
It appears the driver of the car changed lanes from right to left and hit the back of the motorcycle.
According to Petaling Jaya District Police Chief ACP Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, the accident took place at 12.34am on Tuesday, 22 September, at Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang towards Sungai Buloh.
The GrabFood Rider has since lodged a police report
The 23-year-old local resident suffered several injuries to his limbs and his motorcycle was damaged.
Police are now looking for the car driver, according to ACP Nik Ezanee.
"We are actively trying to locate the driver of the car involved in the accident and people with information are asked to come to the nearest police station or contact the Traffic Investigation Officer Sergeant Saidatul Asma Arrifin at 018-9765949 / 03-79662222," Astro Awani reported him as saying.
The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which covers driving recklessly and dangerously and carries a punishment of maximum five years jail, a fine between RM5,000 to RM10,000, and disqualification from holding a driving licence for the first offence.
