[VIDEO] Dashcam Footage Shows Reckless Driver Crashing Into Motorcyclist On KL Highway
The driver said he was "in a hurry".
A recent video of a pickup truck speeding recklessly and crashing into a motorcyclist on the KL-Seremban Highway has made its rounds on social media
The accident, which took place on 19 January, was recorded on another vehicle's dashcam.
It showed a 4x4 truck swerving on the highway before hitting the victim
The motorcyclist was immediately thrown off his bike and suffered minor injuries.
On Monday, 20 January, the driver was arrested after he surrendered himself to police at Shah Alam
According to The Star, the man, who is in his 30s, was on his way to Port Dickson to meet some friends and claimed to have been "in a hurry".
He also tested positive for drugs and alcohol and has been remanded for three days for further investigation.
Meanwhile, police have made an appeal for the driver of the vehicle with the dashcam footage to come forward to assist with investigations.
Installing a dashcam is important to assist in crime and accident cases, Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said, according to the report
"Motorists should, however, make sure to buy dashcams that record in high resolution so that it clearly records details such as number plates," he added, according to The Star.
