A short video showing about 100 residents in Taman Sri Nanding, Hulu Langat, taking shelter on the roof of Surau Al Munir has gone viral

They have been stuck on the roof for over 12 hours with no sign of any help on the way.

The person who shared the video said that the residents had to help themselves in order to save their lives by climbing the surau's roof despite the cold conditions due to the rising level of the water.

"I am one of the residents who live in Taman Sri Nanding, but managed to escape from the disaster area. However, some friends who didn't have time to go out had to take shelter on the roof," they said.

Among those who climbed the roof included pregnant mothers, babies, and people with disabilities (OKU) including the elderlies

According to the person, most of the houses in the area have been submerged.

"And the situation is getting worse when water from Sungai Pangsun overflows into the settlements. Many property losses were suffered and some cars that could not be rescued sank," they said.

From last night until this morning there was no help on the roof of Surau Al-Munir Taman Sri Nanding. Everything is cold.
