A woman was left in tears at a Malaysian airport after she was told she could not bring three boxes of Musang King packed in her luggage on her flight
According to mStar, the woman was flying back to Saudi Arabia with 20 durian arils packed in her checked luggage, unaware that the airline prohibited durians in both cabin and checked baggage.
She said she wanted to bring the king of fruits back with her to enjoy later, as she did not have enough time to eat it during her holiday in Malaysia.
"I cried at the airport when the three containers of Musang King I planned to bring back to Saudi Arabia weren't allowed on the flight. To make matters worse, I didn't have any time to eat durian during my holiday in Malaysia.
"That's why I decided to bring them back to Saudi Arabia instead. In the end, they weren't allowed through. I couldn't hold back my tears. They just kept flowing. I was so heartbroken," she wrote in a social media post.

Her post drew the attention of many netizens, with some pointing out that policies on carrying durians in checked baggage vary between airlines.
According to AirAsia's terms and conditions, fruits with pungent odours, such as durian and jackfruit, are prohibited in both checked and cabin baggage.
The same rule applies to Malaysia Airlines flights. However, the airline notes that these fruits may only be transported as cargo via MAB Kargo on passenger aircraft, provided they are properly packed in airtight, leak-proof packaging.
