Durian lovers, what would you do if you get stopped at a security checkpoint for carrying a durian? For this woman, there was only one thing to do when she was refused entry into a train station.

In an incident captured on 29 December, security at a railway station in the Zhejiang city of Quzhou barred the woman from entering after they found a durian in her bag.

The King of Fruits may be a favourite for many in Asia, but are often forbidden from places like hotels, airports, and public transportation due to its pungent and lingering odour.

Instead of abandoning her precious durian and letting it go to waste, the woman decided to devour the fruit on the spot and IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

She reportedly borrowed a saw (!!!) to open the durian... and proceeded to practically inhale every piece of the fruit in 10 minutes flat

Guess what, she made it in time to catch her train too! A video of her extreme devouring was posted on social media and quickly went viral among Chinese netizens:

Apparently, this is not the first time a traveller went to such lengths to avoid wasting their precious durians in China

According to Shanghaiist, in 2016, a woman ate a 5kg durian at a railway station in Anhui province but had to stop when her nose started bleeding just as the train was about to leave.

A year later, another woman reportedly annihilated two durians on the spot after she was stopped at a Sichuan train station.

In other durian-related news, Melbourne University evacuated their entire campus last year because they thought the stench of a rotting durian was a gas leak:
