You Can Now Get The Sinovac Booster At All Offsite PPVs For Free Starting Monday

The Ministry of Health (MOH) will allow those who received Sinovac vaccine to now obtain the Sinovac vaccine as their boosters

Sinovac's CoronaVac will be offered for walk-ins at offsite vaccination centres (PPV) under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) from Monday, 14 February.

In a statement today, 12 February, ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd said that those eligible for their booster doses and intending to receive this vaccine can refer to the list of offsite PPVs on its website.

Offsite PPVs are vaccination centres operated by private medical practitioners and healthcare non-governmental organisations (NGOs) outside their private health facilities.

This comes after the 7 February announcement by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin that those who received two doses of the Sinovac vaccine are now allowed to receive Sinovac as their booster dose.

MOH, however, is still recommending Pfizer boosters for Sinovac recipients as it offers a higher level of protection, ProtectHealth said

"Any booster is better than no booster"

Quote-tweeting the ProtectHealth's announcement, Khairy asserted that booster shots using Pfizer/BioNTech's Comirnaty and AstraZeneca's Vaxzevria vaccines provide "best top-up protection".

"Although MOH has recommended either receiving the Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster for extra protection, there are still those who ask for choices to be given. We are still strongly recommending either Pfizer or AstraZeneca booster shots but something is better than nothing," read the Health Minister's tweet.

Meanwhile, temperature checks and manual recording of personal particulars for entry into public premises are no longer required:
