You can open a MySPR account online through the Election Commission's MySPR portal.
A MySPR account is useful for online voter services and voter-related applications online, such as applying for postal voting or changing your electoral division. You don't need a MySPR account to vote.
This is different from MySPR Semak, which is mainly used to check your voter information without logging in.
How to open a MySPR account
To open a MySPR account, go to MySPR and select the new account application option.
The basic steps are:
- Go to MySPR and click Permohonan Akaun Baharu, or new account application.
- Fill in your details according to your MyKad, including your MyKad number, mobile number, email address, password, security question, and address.
- Upload a clear photo of the front of your MyKad.
- Upload a clear selfie of yourself holding your MyKad.
- Enter the CAPTCHA, check your details, and submit the application.
Make sure both images are clear. Your MyKad details should be readable, and your selfie should clearly show your face together with the MyKad.
What happens after you submit the application?
After you submit your MySPR account application, it will be reviewed by the Election Commission before the account is activated.
You should first receive an email confirming that your application has been received. After your application is approved, you should receive another email with instructions to activate your account. Click the activation link, enter the required details, request a TAC, and complete the activation process.
Opening a new MySPR account typically takes around 1 to 3 working days, but this may take longer during busy election periods or if your uploaded MyKad images are unclear.
If your account has not been approved after a few working days, you can contact the Election Commission hotline at +603-8892 7218 or check with the relevant state Election Office.
After activation, you can log in to MySPR and use the available online voter services.
