Malaysian Lawn Bowler Now Ranks Number 1 In The World

Malaysian lawn bowl athlete Nor Farah Ain Abdullah has added another feather to her cap by becoming the world's No. 1 player

According to the latest world rankings on the World Bowls Series website today, 5 March, Farah Ain holds the top position in the women's rankings with a total of 723 points.

She ranks ahead of Scotland's Julie Forest, who is in second place with 683 points, and Australia's Kelsey Cottrell in third with 676 points.

Farah Ain's most notable achievement was winning the gold medal at the 2024 World Indoor Bowling Championships in Guernsey, Channel Islands last April

She defeated Malta's Connie Rixon 6-2, 6-3 in the final of the women's singles event.

The 24-year-old also secured a bronze medal in the mixed pairs event with Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple.

Farah Ain's achievement was also celebrated by Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh, who met her in May last year

"I had the pleasure of meeting the country's lawn bowler, Nor Farah Ain Abdullah, who emerged as the new world champion in her debut at the 2024 World Indoor Bowling Championships held in Guernsey recently.

"I am truly excited by her determination and dedication. Keep up the fight and continue to bring glory to Malaysia on the world stage," she wrote in her Facebook post.
