The shuttler did not seem to have noticed the error on the jersey before wearing it during a match yesterday, 11 December.
Victor, the official sportswear sponsor for national men's singles badminton player Lee Zii Jia, has apologised for displaying the upside-down Jalur Gemilang on his jersey
In an X post yesterday, 11 December, Victor apologised to Lee and Malaysian badminton fans for the incident, which took place during the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China earlier that day.
"This mistake does not reflect our deep respect for Malaysia, its national symbols, or the pride and honour of representing the nation on the international stage.
"The Malaysian flag embodies unity and identity, and we deeply regret any unintended disrespect caused by this oversight," the statement read.
Victor stated that a thorough review is currently underway to prevent a recurrence.

During a match yesterday, Lee was spotted wearing a white and turquoise blue jersey with the Jalur Gemilang displayed upside-down
A video clip shows Lee initially wearing a jersey with the correct flag before switching to one with the upside-down flag.
The 26-year-old shuttler did not appear to examine the attire before putting it on, as the match was still in progress.
Lee won the match 21-13, 21-15 against Taiwan's world No. 9 shuttler Chou Tien Chen in the Group A fixture, reported the New Straits Times.
