Meet iPhone 16e — Apple's Latest Budget-Friendly iPhone
It's touted to have the best battery life ever for a 6.1-inch iPhone.
Apple has just introduced a new iPhone, but it's not the one many were expecting
Instead of unveiling a refreshed iPhone SE, the tech giant surprised fans with the iPhone 16e, which CEO Tim Cook described as "the newest member of the family".
At first glance, the iPhone 16e closely resembles the iPhone 16, boasting a 6.1-inch OLED display.
However, it swaps out the Dynamic Island for a traditional notch and features a single rear camera — Apple's 48-megapixel 2-in-1 system, which functions as both a standard and 2x telephoto lens.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16e runs on Apple's A18 chip and is the first iPhone to incorporate the company's in-house cellular modem, the Apple C1
iPhone 16e allows satellite connectivity in areas with zero cellular coverage — useful in emergencies.

Storage options range from 128GB to 512GB, and Apple claims it has the "best battery life ever on a 6.1-inch iPhone", lasting 12 hours longer than the now-retired iPhone SE.
The iPhone 16e is available in just two colours — matte black and matte white — contrasting with the more vibrant options in the iPhone 16 series
It retains key features like splash and dust resistance, the Action Button, and satellite connectivity.
The iPhone 16e could signal the start of a new annual cycle, replacing the sporadic iPhone SE updates with a more consistent and affordable option within the main lineup.
Starting at RM2,999 or RM124.96 per month for 24 months, the iPhone 16e will be available for pre-order from 21 February, with general availability beginning 28 February.
