OpenAI's ChatGPT has left users and developers perplexed as it produced nonsensical responses for several hours recently

On 22 February 2024, ChatGPT users reported on the OpenAI website’s discussion forum that the tool was producing “odd” responses, including made-up words, fragmented sentences, and overall nonsensical language.

In response to concerned users, OpenAI reassured users of the resumption of normal service.

“We are investigating reports of unexpected responses from ChatGPT,” OpenAI said on its status website.
